About Axiom Builders

What we do

We are a trusted construction partner for many leading developers with over 12 million square feet under construction in Metro Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, and Nashville. From iconic residential developments to community‑oriented public spaces, our focus on delivering an exceptional product and customer experience sets us apart. Together, our team of construction professionals takes pride in building value in everything we do, with the highest quality standards and a safety‑first culture.

Who We Are

Our people bring more than outstanding skills and experience—they bring our values to life: Accountability, Autonomy, Humility, Respect, and Excellence. How do our values show up? In the ownership we take for our work and pride in what we build. In the respect we have for everyone we work with, no matter their role. In our ability to balance confidence with humility by listening first, being open to new ideas and innovation. In our leadership trusting our people to make decisions, own outcomes, and do what’s right for the team, project clients, and trade partners.

Does it sound like you’d thrive here? Learn more about how our people live our values.

YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Vice President, Value Chain provides direct leadership to all value‑chain divisions that support the general contracting business and other third‑party clients. This role has a clear mandate: ensure each division performs at a high level, has the right people, operates ethically, and makes financially sound decisions that support the growth of our value chain businesses and in‑turn drive success for internal and external clients.

We are looking for someone to think like an entrepreneur as many of our value‑chain businesses are in growth stages — always looking for opportunities to improve, adapt, and strengthen how our internal trades add value to construction projects. You will lead with humility and guide our experienced leaders in our equipment rental, material supply, labour division and other value‑chain businesses. This is a highly people‑centric role — one that requires genuine curiosity about the work and the teams, and a commitment to building strong relationships through regular visits on‑site and working side‑by‑side in the field with your leadership team.

You are a mentor, entrepreneur and humble business leader who thrives on developing the people around them to create shared success. You have transitioned from working in a business to working on the business and understand the value of growth aligning to organizational mindset, values and culture. You understand the value of a leader who has built a business from scratch and can support them in the next phase of their growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy

  • Build each division with the fundamentals of a value‑chain business: business opportunity, clear structure, the right people, dependable systems, financial acumen and consistent planning;
  • Spend time in each business regularly to understand real issues, spot opportunities, and help leaders plan for growth, improvement, or course corrections;
  • Guide divisions toward steady, sustainable development, better forecasting and systems, and better operational discipline year over year.

Leadership

  • Develop and mentor divisional leaders, set clear expectations, and support them in running their operations successfully and safely;
  • Build teams that can grow with the business — making sure people are trained, supported, and held accountable when needed;
  • Maintain strong relationships with the GC operations team so the value‑chain divisions stay aligned with project needs and can plan accordingly.

Financials

  • Oversee the full financial picture of each value‑chain business, including budgets, forecasts, labour costs, equipment costs, and overhead;
  • Work with divisional leaders to understand what drives their numbers and help them plan for the year ahead, not just the month;
  • Ensure each business stays financially stable and makes decisions that support long‑term health, not short‑term gains.

Skills & Experience

  • Fifteen (15+) plus years of experience in the construction industry including leading business units;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent level of experience;
  • P&L management and financial analysis (budgets, forecasting, cost tracking);
  • Construction operations knowledge (labour, formwork, concrete, equipment, logistics, supply chain);
  • Ability to assess productivity, manpower planning, and operational bottlenecks;
  • Direct communicator who can hold people accountable to deliver excellent results;
  • Works well with field and office leaders; earns trust by showing up and listening.

YOUR REWARDS

Axiom Builders offers more than just competitive compensation and benefits; we give you the tools to build a long‑term career.

Hear from our people on what it means to grow here, and learn about all the extras we offer: Why Axiom Builders.

During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.

What Happens Next
