Civil EIT Water

AECOMs Water group is searching for a Municipal Engineer/Designer in the Conveyance sector of the Water business line. This new role can be based out of any of our Greater Toronto and surrounding area offices.

The appropriately qualified candidate will have knowledge and experience in civil engineering and construction management principles as they relate to design and construction projects for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. They will have a high level of initiative motivation and display drive energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support in the technical delivery of infrastructure to customers within the municipal water wastewater and storm water sectors.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Technical knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment.
• Design experience of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater.
• Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
• Prepare construction cost estimates.
• Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements :

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of related experience with conveyance engineering design construction oversight
• Experience with municipal water wastewater and/or stormwater conveyance infrastructure projects

Preferred Qualifications :

• Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues contractors and clients.
• Experience in client communication and management.
• Project management experience (including in an assistant/deputy role) is considered an asset.
• Experience in proposal writing and job scoping is an asset.
• Experience with MicroStation Civil 3D or AutoCAD would be an asset.
• Experience with trenchless technologies would be an asset.
