Play an integral role in shaping and delivering complex engineering projects, ensuring excellence across safety, quality, cost, and schedule, while leading multi-discipline teams to achieve impactful results.
You will be responsible for establishing the project framework for engineering and design, coordinating cross-discipline teams, and driving project execution from start to finish. Your leadership ensures that engineering deliverables meet technical, regulatory, and client expectations while fostering innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. You will also bring hands-on expertise in onshore pipeline projects in cold weather environments, applying practical experience to anticipate and mitigate challenges associated with extreme climates.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Delivery: Lead the engineering plan, scope, cost, and schedule requirements for large or complex projects. Coordinate discipline teams to ensure successful project execution, progress monitoring, and quality outcomes. Implement innovative solutions to address challenges, including out-of-sequence work.
- Technical Oversight: Ensure adherence to engineering standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. Promote technical excellence through peer reviews, checks, and feedback incorporation. Standardize equipment specifications, templates, and drawings where applicable.
- Cross-Discipline Leadership: Direct multi-discipline teams, including Lead Engineers and Designers, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and issue resolution. Mentor team members, support training, and foster knowledge sharing.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors. Support proposals by defining execution strategies, estimating hours and costs, reviewing content, and presenting solutions to clients.
- Business & Operational Support: Communicate resource needs to Discipline Managers, manage workload coverage, and ensure compliance with company processes and HSE requirements. Support budgeting, cost control, and performance review processes.
Procurement & Site Support: Review and approve specifications, bid evaluations, and technical documentation. Collaborate with site personnel to address constructability, operability, and maintainability concerns. Provide on-site support for construction, commissioning, and turnover as required.

What you’ll bring to the role
- Experience: 20+ years of relevant discipline experience, with 5+ years as a Project Engineering Manager overseeing large, complex projects. Hands-on experience in project setup, team management, cost estimating, proposal development, and project closeout. Significant experience in onshore pipeline projects, particularly in cold weather or arctic environments, is required.
- Qualifications & Training: Actively licensed engineer where required; trained in leadership, project execution, and ideally in risk management or quality.
- Technical & Systems Skills: Strong understanding of cross-discipline work, interfaces, and sequencing. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, with familiarity in integrated engineering tools; Access and Visio knowledge desirable.
- Leadership & People Skills: Ability to build constructive relationships, communicate clearly, and lead multi-cultural teams. Strong action orientation, intellectual capacity to manage complexity, and accountability for high-quality deliverables.
- HSE Commitment: Hands-on application of Safe and Sustainable Engineering practices, promoting health, safety, and environmental excellence across teams.
