Plan Group is looking for an experienced Technology and IoT Specialist with experience in working with Smart Building Technology in both Commercial Real Estate and in Smart Hospitals to join our growing Technology team. Our focus, design and deliver integrated technology solutions that connect systems and people, enabling smarter buildings, more efficient operations and clinical outcomes.
Leveraging your understanding of Technology, IoT, building and clinical systems, Plan Group is looking for an experienced Technology and IoT Specialist that will be responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, configuration and execution of complex technology projects across healthcare and smart building environments. This role ensures that all systems ranging from building automation, security systems, RTLS, IoT devices, clinical systems, and digital infrastructure work seamlessly together to deliver high-performance connected and intelligent facilities.
As our Technology and IoT Specialist, you will:
- Spearhead and be responsible for the solutioning, Implementation, Coordination, programming, and support of technology and IoT systems such as cameras, access control, smart sensors, RTLS, Building Automation Systems etc. Also, this role provides project administrative support for with the project team and with our respective vendors in the industry.
- Develop IoT and Connected system architectures
- Work with industry vendors to evaluate and select technology platforms for the application.
- Produce system designs and integration strategies
- Ensure scalability and cybersecurity considerations
- Continue to learn about emerging technologies
- Troubleshoot connected systems and network issues
- Translate operational needs into technical requirements
- Support end-user adoption and training.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of 3+ years relevant experience working in a Technology/IoT field and project management environment dealing directly with professional consultants, general contractor, manufacturers, end users including onsite monitoring and inspection.
- College diploma in Electrical or Engineering Technologist or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
- Experience in healthcare environments and construction delivery processes strongly preferred.
- Proven track record delivering technology system projects involving IoT, BAS, AV, Security, healthcare systems, etc.
- Understanding of IP converged networks to allow for data exchange between systems to support integration requirementsUnderstanding of hyperconverged computing infrastructure including hypervisors, virtual machines, and storage solutions for on-premise deployment of systems
- Comfortable in the field and on construction work sites.Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel
