About the Position :

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations of a branch. Duties include staff training and safety, building rapport with customers and the community, and creating & implementing strategies to improve productivity and sales performance in efforts to achieve financial targets.

Tasks and Duties :

  • Direct the activities of the branch location from back end to front end of operation, optimizing service levels and managing branch P&L.
  • Develop and implement business plans to include operational and sales forecasts along with financial objectives for the branch.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the physical inventory, perform physical branch inventories as needed.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a qualified staff within defined headcount parameters.
  • Assist in the development of standards of performance as a basis of review.
  • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company safety policies.
  • Ensure all work required (including discrepancy processing) is completed efficiently, accurately, and timely, including but not limited to receiving, restocking, picking, shipping, returns, inventory management.
  • Manage day to day work, processes, payroll, attendance, time off, evaluations, discipline, and hiring decisions.
  • Provide training, coaching, development and motivation to improve branch performance.
  • Ensure proper working order of all facility resources, such as racking, MHE, building systems (HVAC etc.), work & break rooms, etc.

and ensure the company meets all lease obligations.

  • Maintain building operations to comply with all regulatory obligations, including but not limited to OSHA, HazMat, Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Continually review the set-up of the building / operations to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment, including but not limited to slotting.
  • Must be able to pass certification of training on warehouse equipment where applicable (i.e., fork truck, wave picker, pallet jack, etc.).
  • Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulatory and applicable laws.
  • Provide support on escalated customer requests as needed.
  • Ensure all front counter operations are performed per policies and procedures.
  • Manage retail display area to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes as appropriate.
  • Fulfill roles and responsibilities of absent employees as needed.
  • Develop relationships with carriers to ensure contracts are honored and vendor performance expectations are clearly communicated and achieved.
  • Maintain vendor contracts for warehouse related areas including but not limited to waste management, security, corrugated supplies, packing supplies, etc.
  • Evaluate and execute best practices and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular feedback to Regional Management on the overall operations of branch, sharing effective practices, competitive intelligence, and business opportunities.
  • Manage and / or prepare reports including daily reporting requirements and daily non-negotiables.
  • Project a favorable image of the company to enhance public recognition.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.

Education and Experience :

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a stressful and demanding environment.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and develop staff.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior supervisory experience desired.
  • Minimum 4 years customer service experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook).
