As an on-call relief Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier with Canada Post, you can. Along with receiving a competitive salary, you will have the opportunity to grow with us and discover your career potential, as you may be eligible to apply for any upcoming permanent Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier positions. /n /n /n /n /n Job Responsibilities/n /n /n /n • Be adept at sorting, collecting and delivering mail items, in a safe and timely manner /n • Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure including roads, customers and delivery receptacles /n • Ensure mail is safely secured in their possession /n /n /n /n /n Job Responsibilities (continued)/n /n /n /n /n - Process various CPC products and services (Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill (IDB) and others) /n /n /n /n - Wear Canada Post identification while on delivery and ensure its visibility while delivering and collecting mail from customers /n /n /n /n - Lift and carry items up to 50 lb/22.7 kg /n /n /n /n - Have experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions /n /n /n /n /n /n Qualifications/n /n /n /n - Have a satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required) /n - Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license - class 5 or G. /n /n /n /n /n /n Other Information/n /n /n Mandatory Vehicle Requirements /n /n /n - A minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters) /n - Automatic Transmission /n - Power windows; /n - A metal roof-top and accessory power outlet to accommodate a Canada Post sign and flashing light; /n - The middle of passenger window sill that is between 38” and 45” from the ground and maximum interior width of 56”; /n - Fifth door / hatchback to allow for oversized and bulky items to be loaded; (Preferred) /n - Provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance for the use of your vehicle /n - Notify your insurance company as to the use of your vehicle while employed at Canada Post /n /n /n Click here to know how to measure your vehicle's cargo capacity /n /n /n /n Canada Post’s values and behaviours /n Our Values - Trust, Respect and Deliver represent our fundamental promise to ourselves, our expectations of one and another and our shared duty to our country. /n Our behaviours – Make the call, Know the destination, Deliver for others, Ignite our pride; embody our values, bringing them to life and guiding our actions. /n We’re committed to living these values and practicing these behaviours every day.
