Role Overview
The Philanthropy Coordinator supports major gifts at St. Paul’s Foundation by helping fundraisers and leaders cultivate strong, lasting relationships with donors. The role ensures donors have a meaningful and seamless experience as they invest in healthcare, research, and patient care across BC, collaborating closely with clinicians, researchers, and senior leadership. Responsibilities include tracking donor engagement, coordinating gift processing, and contributing to the planning and execution of initiatives that advance patient care and medical research. The role supports major gift strategies that bring critical healthcare projects and research to life.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the Major Gifts team by coordinating activities, tracking strategies, and assisting with the planning and execution of initiatives that advance patient care, research, and capital priorities.
• Maintain accurate donor and prospect records, support research and prospecting, and prepare briefing materials for meetings and solicitations.
• Coordinate gift processing and documentation, ensuring compliance with donor intent, organizational policies, and fundraising standards.
• Assist in the development and submission of proposals, funding requests, and donor reports that demonstrate their philanthropic impact.
• Accurately record and maintain donor interactions, communications, and gift activity in the organization’s CRM system to ensure data integrity, support stewardship efforts, and enable effective reporting and relationship management.
• Support donor engagement through event coordination, communications, and stewardship activities.
• Monitor customer relationship management (CRM) data quality, generate reports on donor activity and fundraising performance, and contribute to process improvement and best practices.
• Collaborate across teams, including fundraisers, clinical leaders, and researchers, to align fundraising efforts and ensure a seamless donor experience.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to ensure donor funds are administered in alignment with donor intent and support enhancements to patient care.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience
• Successful completion of postsecondary education in fundraising, communications, business or healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• A minimum of 2–4 years of experience in fundraising, development operations, or donor relations, including supporting major or leadership gifts, required.
• Experience in a hospital foundation, healthcare charity, or academic medical setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of various gift types (pledges, multiyear commitments, restricted gifts, planned giving), preferred.
• Proficiency with CRM/database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office, required.

As a not-for-profit foundation entrusted with donor funds and community partnerships, the successful candidate must complete and pass a criminal background check prior to commencing employment.

To submit your application, please email your resume with cover letter to SPFcareers@phc.ca indicating the job title "Philanthropy Coordinator" in the subject line.
