About the Next Gen Institute:The Next Gen Institute (NGI) is a Canadian nonprofit initiative focused on equipping young Canadians with the knowledge they need to understand personal finance, government finance, and civic responsibility. NGI will produce modular, curriculum-aligned educational resources that teachers can integrate directly into existing courses such as CALM, Social Studies, Civics, and Economics. Each NGI module includes a professionally produced 5-minute educational video, a student workbook, a teacher’s guide, curriculum mapping aligned to provincial standards, and assessment materials. Resources are provided free of charge to educators across Canada, beginning with a 2026 pilot launch in Alberta.
Position Overview:NGI is seeking a highly capable Part-Time Production Coordinator to lead the research, production, distribution, and promotion of NGI’s modular educational content. This individual will serve as the operational engine behind NGI’s video and digital output, ensuring content is professionally produced, curriculum-aligned, widely distributed, and approved for classroom use.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Research & Development - Research and draft scripts for 5-minute educational videos
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, scripting, editing, and production
- Identify and recruit high-profile speakers and subject matter experts
- Ensure content is factually accurate, engaging, and non-partisan in tone
Curriculum Alignment - Research provincial curriculum standards across Canada
- Map modules to specific learning outcomes
- Prepare curriculum documentation for teacher use
- Submit completed modules to provincial education authorities for approval where required
Production Management - Coordinate recording sessions and oversee editing and graphics
- Maintain consistent branding and quality standards
- Manage production timelines and delivery schedules
Website & Digital Publishing - Post completed modules on the NGI website
- Manage content organization and user experience
- Ensure SEO optimization
Social Media & Marketing - Develop and execute social media distribution strategies
- Manage posting across major platforms
- Optimize content using SEO, SEM, and LEO
- Track analytics and refine distribution strategy
Education Outreach - Promote modules to school boards and teachers across Canada
- Support pilot schools and coordinate student surveys
Qualifications: - Education or training in media production (e.g., NAIT Media Programs or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating video production work
- Strong writing and research skills
- Experience using AI tools for research and production
- Website management experience (WordPress or similar)
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing best practices
- Strong project management and communication skills
Compensation & StructurePart-time (20 hours per week), in Edmonton or remote within Canada. Opportunity to transition to full-time as NGI expands nationally.
This role is central to shaping how young Canadians understand personal finance, public policy, and their role in democracy.
