Procurement Agent

Role Summary
The Procurement Agent supports purchasing activities for site-level teams to ensure materials are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and within established timelines. This role requires strong relationship-building and negotiation skills to maintain supplier partnerships and keep projects moving smoothly.

Key Impact / Purpose

• Source and purchase materials to keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
• Optimize inventory and purchasing processes for cost-effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase materials for field foremen.
• Review, maintain, and issue purchase orders to preferred vendors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor and recommend appropriate inventory levels for materials and consumables.
• Schedule and expedite material deliveries as required.
• Review vendor invoices against orders to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Execute material return procedures and secure credits from suppliers.
• Maintain organized purchase order records.

Must-haves:

• 3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, ideally in construction or mechanical contracting.
• Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective communication and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Eligible for reliability security clearance.

Nice-to-haves:

• Knowledge of mechanical systems and construction industry experience.
• Resourceful problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

This is a new position and will be working out of a project site in Mississauga. Expected annual compensation is between $70,000 - $80,000
