About the Role The 1st Press Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of our 40”+ sheet-fed offset presses, to produce high-end print products that meet strict quality standards within established timeframes. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead press operations ensuring smooth production runs, troubleshooting issues and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
In this role, you will receive: - Compensation: A base salary of $52,000-$69,000 commensurate with experience.

Your Day-to-Day will include: - Set up and operate sheet-fed offset presses to meet production targets and quality standards
- Install plates and configure ink, dampening, feeder, and delivery systems
- Maintain accurate color matching and registration throughout press runs
- Monitor press performance and make mechanical adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve print and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and waste
- Accurately record production data using press consoles and control systems
- Maintain press cleanliness and support preventative maintenance standards
- Act as a safety leader by following and enforcing all health and safety policies
- Complete required safety inspections, reports, and training
- Support teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement on the production floor
What Makes You a Great Fit? - High school diploma required; technical training preferred
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience operating sheet-fed offset presses as a lead pressman
- Proven experience running multi-colour (4–6 color) work with coatings
- Experience printing on a wide range of substrates, including board stock, coated, uncoated, and specialty papers
- Background in high-end commercial print or specialty print products
- Strong proficiency in press setup including plate mounting, cylinder configuration, ink fountain presetting, feeder and delivery setup, registration, and color matching
- Advanced troubleshooting skills of print defects including ink/water imbalance, ghosting, hickeys, slur, doubling, set-off, sheet marking, feeding issues, and registration drift
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications
- Basic math skills and a cost-conscious mindset
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during an 8-hour shift
- Flexibility to work occasional casual overtime to meet production deadlines.
