ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Responsibilities include:
• Conducting energy audits and developing energy conservation measures and energy management plans for client facilities
• Conducting sustainable life cycle assessments and building condition assessments
• Conduct and/or coordinate infield facilities condition inspections
• Generate, review and understand reports. Uses aggregate data from multiple sources to assist in creating a complete analysis, improvement and/or recommendation
• Review the accuracy of information provided and responds to requests from management and internal clients
• Provide technical support and guidance on sustainability concepts and projects such as energy efficiency, water efficiency, onsite generation, energy storage, smart building technologies, waste management, material selection, high performance HVAC systems, ventilation and IAQ, lighting, etc.
• Utilize and update the ESS energy management dashboard for internal and external clients. These duties will include enrolling new clients, creating dashboards, creating reports, updating carbon emissions factors
• Provide general communications and business development support, including participating in response to RFPs.
• Identify, pursue and manage funding streams and incentives on suitable projects
• Support specific sales, proposal and project efforts which have an ESS scope
• Project Management support
• Interact with client, staff, architects, engineers, contractors, industry representatives, facility managers and construction trades

• Passionate about climate change mitigation, resiliency, sustainable design and management and energy management
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-directed and self-motivated
• Willingness to develop new skill sets and engage in on the job training
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering, Sustainability Management or related field
• Completed or pursuing a degree or diploma in Engineering or Building Science (i.e., Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist designations are an asset).
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of building science, HVAC, construction practices, lighting systems, facility control systems, smart building technologies and energy management strategies
• Experience in facility energy efficiency and resiliency, GHG emissions management and building assessments
• Familiarity with energy management software
• Energy analytics skills will be an asset
• Must have a valid drivers license
Expected compensation for this role is a starting pay range between $21-24/hour dependent on education level, skills and experience.
