NAIT’sMarketing and Communications team is seeking an enthusiastic and talenteddeveloper to contribute to their web development activities. Reporting to theWeb and Digital Systems Administrator, the Web Developer is responsible forcreating, developing, and implementing the technical elements of NAIT’s webproperties.

Theindividual will provide technical designs and frameworks, build new websitesand develop web solutions for clients across NAIT. The successful applicantmust be a self-motivated professional who takes ownership of his/her work, andworks well in a fast-paced, agile team environment. The individual must alsodemonstrate an enthusiasm for understanding new web technologies, findingsimple solutions to complex problems, and working in the diverse and dynamicteam that supports marketing and communications at NAIT.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Work closely with web designers andinformation architects to create new websites and applications that supportNAIT’s marketing and communications initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers fromInformation and Technology Services on web application development.
• Translate stakeholders’ businessneeds into cohesive customer-centric web solutions that align with NAIT’sstrategic direction.
• Map business requirements to thetechnical solutions used in a web application’s functionality.
• Document the data and applicationneeds for a project to support evolving business functions and webtechnologies.
• Support maintenance and ongoingdesign of current websites and interactive components
• Develop dynamic integrations betweenvarious systems, applications and data centers to enable a rich web experience.

Skills & Abilities:

• Experiencedeveloping websites within content management systems, particularly Kentico andKontent.ai, and adapting to changing technologiesand modern web standards.
• Proficient in JavaScript frameworksand libraries like VUE, Angular, ReactJS
• SQL programming experience andfamiliarity with relational database design.
• Experience in consuming and testingREST/JSON APIs
• Experiencewith Azure services including Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines), Azure App Servicesand Azure cosmos DB
• Knowledgeof Azure AI Search, including index design, cognitive enrichment, and applyingAI‑driven search features in web applications.
• Thorough knowledge of methods andtechniques used in developing with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
• Robust object-oriented design, coding,debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationshipsand understand a wide range of internal and external stakeholder needs.
• Strongplanning, time management, and documentation skills.
• Provenability in requirements gathering, analysis, and assessment, along withknowledge of emerging web technologies and social media platforms.
• Ability to effectively track anddocument issues and their resolutions.
• Highattention to detail with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑pacedenvironment.
• Strongtechnical problem‑solving aptitude and enthusiasm for tackling complexchallenges.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Gradetwelve
• Related technicaldiploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Extensive relatedexperience
• Equivalencies may beconsidered

Applicants witheducation credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentialsevaluated by World Education Services (WES), International QualificationsAssessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Remuneration: $71,863.48- $96,641.22 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification –Technologist IV).

Thisposition is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)Collective Agreement.
