University Plumbing and Heating-operating under Ozz Electric is looking for a General Manager!

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily business activities of the Mechanical and Plumbing division. Improving overall business functions, developing strategic plans, and communicating and delivering business goals.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee operational activities for the business unit.
• Lead the development of the business units strategic plan and management of the operations team to meet the P&L objectives and the organization’s long-term strategy.
• Analyze the existing operational organization, structure, processes and performance; and identify opportunities and implement solutions for improvement.
• Build and maintain relationships with other department heads, external partners, clients and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activities and strategic goals.
• Set goals and KPIs for all aspects of the business unit, such as on-time delivery, productivity, and quality to meet organizational objectives.
• Lead the business units’ operations team towards maximizing customer satisfaction while maintaining operational efficiency and managing costs through strategic planning, process improvement and inter-departmental collaboration.
• Work with HR and the operations team to develop a long-term retention strategy for the business unit and champion an environment of continuous improvement and success.
• Propose and implement revisions to procedures and create new standard operating procedures as necessary, develop new workflow processes and audits.
• Drive quality, continuous improvement and employee involvement through team-based problem solving and best practices.
• Establish project management principles and guidelines within the department and establish a consistent delivery method.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in a similar role.
• Experience in the mechanical and plumbing industry is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully planning and executing projects on schedule and within budget.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
• Experience in contract administration.

• Experience developing strategic plans with departmental budget responsibility.

EDUCATION:

• Undergraduate degree in construction management or related degree or comparable work experience.
