Job Description

The AECOM Edmonton Transportation Department is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate to work in the Bridge Inspection Team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the inspection of various bridge components such as substructures, superstructures, and approach roads

• Conduct inspections in accordance with the BIM (Bridge Inspection and Maintenance System) inspection manual and other relevant regulations

• Understanding structural behavior such as load paths, force distributions, and bending actions to assess the condition and severity of in-service bridges

• Preparation of inspection forms, reports and rehabilitation recommendations in accordance with industry standards

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company safety protocols

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and senior engineers

• Supporting project coordination, scheduling, and documentation as required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license

• Relevant internship or professional work experience such as field inspection, bridge or structural construction, or structural design and detailing.

• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills

• Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft Project, and standard office software

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $75000.
