Senior Corporate Accountant - Alabaster Group of Companies
The Alabaster Group of Companies encompasses Alabaster Homes, our multi‑family rental, strata and multiplex division and Pavilion Cowork, our shared office space division. While our core business is real estate development and shared office space, we pride ourselves on being a team of community builders.
Position Summary
As a Senior Corporate Accountant at Alabaster Homes, you will play a key role in managing the financial health and integrity of a dynamic real‑estate development company. You’ll be responsible for full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, and analysis across our portfolio of residential and mix‑use projects. Working closely with the Accounting Team, you’ll ensure accurate, timely and insightful financial information that supports strategic decision making and operational excellence.

You will be instrumental in refining our accounting processes, implementing best practices and helping to scale accounting operations as the company continues to expand.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis for all corporate entities.
- Review year‑end financial statements and tax returns prepared by external auditors.
- Ensure financial reporting accuracy under ASPE and company policies.
Corporate Budget and Cash Flow Forecasting
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in coordination with the department heads, including quarterly and annual updates.
- Coordinate with the Finance team to develop and maintain models to forecast revenue, expenses and cash flow for corporate entities.
- Support the finance team with reconciling location‑level and corporate‑level financials and investor distributions.
Reporting and Monitoring
- Prepare weekly cash management report for management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow for distribution to the management team, including budgets to actuals.
- Maintain capital asset, prepaid, loan, and other financial schedules.
- Maintain executive dashboards to support business decisions.
Business Support
- Partner with project accountants, and other internal departments to align operational data with financial reporting.
- Provide financial information to auditors, lenders and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist in interpreting day‑to‑day accounting and management reporting.
- Assist in integration of FP&A tools with the accounting system to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop templates and reporting processes that streamline recurring accounting and forecasting tasks.
Other duties and responsibilities as required in accordance with the needs of the business.
Who You Are
You are a detail‑oriented and proactive accounting professional with a deep understanding of corporate and project‑based accounting, ideally within the real estate, construction or development sectors. You combine technical expertise with a strong business sense and are motivated by the opportunity to add value beyond the numbers.
You thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment where your ability to adapt, prioritize and communicate effectively sets you apart. You take ownership of your work, maintain high standards of accuracy and are eager to collaborate across departments to drive clarity and accountability.
In addition to these qualities, you also bring:
- CPA Designation
- 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice, real estate development, construction or property management.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles combined with budgeting and financial analysis experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Yardi and Sage300 CRE is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
- Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work visa).
Total Compensation Package
- Base annual compensation ranging from $75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Vacation & Time Off Package.
- Extended Health & Dental Benefits upon successful completion of a mandatory three‑month probationary period.
This is a full‑time, permanent position offering the opportunity to grow with Alabaster’s expanding construction team.
