The Heavy Equipment Field Technician works with our Field Service Manager to respond to service calls at customer locations. At the job site they are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, to help ensure optimal performance. This role involves working in the field, at client locations, to address equipment issues promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities And Duties

• A field technician is responsible for completing quality repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of equipment in and around Calgary
• Completing preventative maintenance services as set out by our checklists
• Is able to identify possible failures before they lead to downtime
• Complete equipment diagnostics and effectively communicate findings
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times
• Additional tasks as related to the position from time to time

Qualifications And Skills

• Exceptional attitude and understanding of the demands of the construction equipment industry
• Good communication skills
• Journeyman H.E.T. technician 3rd or 4th year apprentice
• Equipment experience valued but not required; we welcome highway and automotive technicians looking for a change
• Have a complete set of hand and air tools. Specialty diagnostic equipment and large tools will be supplied
• Physically fit and able to meet the demands of heavy equipment field repairs
• Dealership experience and training considered an asset
• Proficient with equipment diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical, considered an asset
• Able to read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics to assist in diagnostics
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience

• 5 Years construction equipment industry experience minimum
• Mechanical: 3 years (required)
