Overview

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Nurse

Responsibilities

  • assesses, identifies, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care required to assist patients in meeting their physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs using an established framework for nursing practice
  • develops, implements, evaluates and revises the plan of care
  • incorporates individual and/or group teaching into the care plan and nursing interventions and/or makes referrals to other identified resources
  • supports other nurses and health care professionals by collegially sharing information and demonstrating procedures
  • The Nurse works within an interdisciplinary clinical framework in accordance with the BCCNM Standards and consistent with the mission, vision and values and established protocols of Providence Health Care.

Education and Licensure

  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.

  • A competitive salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $55.91 per hour, depending on experience.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care.
  • Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
  • Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary.
  • Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
  • Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
