Contract Duration: 18 months, renewable
Worksite: Hybrid - Vancouver, BC - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote, a week
We are seeking a Senior Technical Art Generalist to help drive high-quality real-time content creation of characters, environments, and worlds in gameplay spaces. This role is for a highly versatile technical artist who can own content end-to-end in Unreal Engine 5, from DCC creation through in engine setup, logic integration, optimization, and final polish.
You will work closely with Art, Design, and Engineering partners, contributing hands-on production content while also helping solve cross-discipline technical challenges. This role requires strong artistic fundamentals paired with deep technical understanding of real-time pipelines and engine workflows.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end real-time content creation in Unreal Engine 5, from DCC authoring through final in-engine implementation
Create and integrate character, environment, and prop assets, including rigging, animation, lighting, layout, and materials
Connect art content to gameplay systems using Blueprints and engine workflows
Optimize and debug content for performance, stability, and visual quality
Collaborate closely with Art, Design, and Engineering to deliver production-ready content
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Art, Technical Art, Game Development, or a related field OR 5+ years of professional experience in technical art, real-time content creation, or game development.
Practical experience across multiple stages of the real-time art pipeline, including:
Modeling (characters and/or environments) and Surfacing
Rigging and animation
Lighting and layout
In-engine implementation
Demonstrated proficiency with Unreal Engine, including asset setup and Blueprint scripting.
Deep understanding of real-time performance constraints and optimization.
Ability to bridge communication between Art, Design, and Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on AAA console titles.
Familiarity with gameplay systems and data-driven pipelines.
Experience creating tools, scripts, or workflows that improve artist efficiency.
Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
Pay rate $55/HR - $65/HR
