Scheduling Requirements

• Full and part‑time positions available: PSW must be available for 12‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Must be available Saturday and Sunday; flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred.
• Must be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
• Available and willing to see multiple clients throughout the day.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
• Provide companionship and light housekeeping to help a person stay at home.
• Prepare meals in accordance with the client and/or the family's request (open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
• Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
• Assist clients in all activities of daily living/hygiene assistance: bathing, grooming, linen changes, etc.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation & exercises.
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
• Function within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practice safely and competently within the job description.
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable access to a car for daily work.
• Ability to travel between assignments within designated work area; asset if you can travel to rural/remote areas.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
• PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or international nursing/doctoral certification.
• Negative TB test completed within the last year.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
• Valid WHMIS 2015 Certificate of Completion.
• COVID vaccination receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario's Human Rights Code.
• Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required; hepatitis B immunization strongly urged.
• Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last year.
• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
• Requires good judgment, ability to work independently, and cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
• Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an asset.
