Architectural & Design Sales Consultant

Stone Tile West Ltd. is searching for an Architectural & Design Sales Consultant. Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2022, we are North America’s leading fashion house of natural and manufactured tiles, stone, and wood. With over 160 employees and showrooms across major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary, we are seeking to improve our international reputation as a luxury design firm for the architects and designers’ community as well as discerning residential customers to redefine their spaces to transcend the ordinary.

As an experienced, highly motivated, and self-driven Architectural & Design Sales Consultant, you m ust be self-driven, highly motivated, and already possess experience in this area. Along with standard daily duties of engaging clients, driving sales, managing product specifications, and executing projects from start to finish, the ideal Architectural & Design Sales Consultant candidate must also act as a Stone Tile brand ambassador by possessing extensive knowledge of our brand and our products.

What Sales Qualifications/Skills do you have

• Strong product knowledge, preferably in the tile and/or flooring industry.
• Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
• Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task.
• Assist in preparing sample requests and/or client deliveries – able to handle 25lb weight load.
• A strong communicator; willing to teach and share ideas with others.
• Strong follow-through skills; able to see projects and timelines through to fruition.
• Have a professional appearance.
• Skilled in MS Office Suite.
• A team player who is willing and able to work with other sales team members.
• Strong organizational skills.
• An openness to accept new techniques in product knowledge, training, and problem solving.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Assist A&D Sales representatives close jobs at the discretion of VP, Western Canada.

What Education and Experience skills do you have?

• 10+ years of industry sales experience or in a similar role.
• Degree/Diploma in business management or a relevant field
• Strong product knowledge.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task.
• A strong communicator; willing to teach and share ideas with others.
• Strong follow-through skills; able to see projects and timelines through to fruition.
• Have a professional appearance.
• Skilled in MS Office Suite
• A team player who is willing and able to work with other sales team members.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Have a reliable and accessible form of transportation to and from clients and meetings.
• An openness to accept new techniques in product knowledge, training, and problem solving.

What is considered an asset?

• Previous experience in flooring or surfaces industry experience considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Prophet21
• Experience in Design/Build construction
• Experience and/or knowledge of interior design
• High levels of enthusiasm
• Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations Successful completion of Criminal Background Check
