Job descriptionAcero Engineering Inc. ("Acero"), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one role as an Instrumentation & Controls Designer (12 - 18-month contract role). Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management. Responsibilities: * Producing oil facility-related Instrumentation & Control drawing packages, including SLDs, area classification drawings, electrical layouts, JB wiring diagrams, motor/VFD schematics, cable schedules, EHT isometrics, etc. * Generating industrial control system drawings * Producing datasheets and loop diagram development (preferably in SPI). * Perform demand load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable tray fill calculations, etc. * Supporting engineering and procurement efforts regarding the requisition of electrical equipment such as switch-gears, MCC, UPS, EHT panels, e-Houses, etc. * Interpreting information from vendor electrical drawings, P&IDs, LDTs, isometrics, etc. * Other tasks/responsibilities, as required Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: * Required: Bachelor's Degree or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Electrical or Instrumentation Design * Required: SmartPlant 3D (S3D) and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) experience * Must understand the pertinent codes and standards * Speed, accuracy and the ability to work long hours as necessary to complete the work is an absolute must-have character trait * Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills * Strong written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills * Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
