Responsibilities
Batch and issue shop drawings to fabrication plants
Learn to use computer programs such as JDEwards, Strumis and Bluebeam
Issue purchase orders for miscellaneous project purchases
Recap projects weekly to ensure all materials required for upcoming batches are received on time for fabrication
Process shop paperwork related to consumption of inventory
Process revised shop drawings
Nest steel into purchasable lengths / bundles to ensure efficient buying / material usage
Expedite and arrange the pick-up or delivery of purchased items while keeping in mind project schedules
Work closely with the Procurement Specialist to purchase steel for projects from ABM (Advanced Bills of Material), field bolt lists or requisitions.
Technical Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word & Excel
Experience in the Steel Industry would be considered an asset
