Join to apply for the Power Generation Technician - Field role at Wajax .
Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to customers, working closely with other technicians and administrative staff. Perform tasks related to testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of marine / power generation / fire pump engines (gasoline and diesel) and engine components, in the shop and on customer sites as required.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose using OEM diagnostic software.
- Service and repair engines and engine components both in the shop and on-site for customers.
- Recondition and remanufacture engines and components as required for repairs.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
- Communicate equipment servicing needs with Branch Supervisor / Manager.
- Document work performed and complete service paperwork; update and maintain service records.
- Fill out warranty information; complete work orders.
- Participate in OEM in-house and on-site service training; training may occur during or after work hours.
- Participate in all required Health & Safety training and comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
- Perform daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
- Work with manufacturers’ online support; conduct housekeeping; maintain a professional company image.
- Meet requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.
Qualifications
Education : Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal and / or currently registered in a related Provincial Apprenticeship program.Experience with power generation, transfer switches, and fire pumps is an asset; oil and marine industry experience is an asset.Prior experience with Volvo Penta or MTU engines is an asset.Work experience : 2-3 years.Knowledge : Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with customers; strong mechanical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.The Company
