HDR is looking for a Rail Systems Integration Engineer to join our Toronto office. Reporting to the Section Lead, Systems, Operations and Maintenance, you will be part of the larger North America Rail and Transit Systems Team, working closely with project managers and engineering disciplines on a variety of projects in Canada and the U.S.

As an engineer with growing experience in the rail and transit field, you will support the development and application of Systems Integration principles—such as requirements management and interface management—on projects. Working across a wide variety of engineering disciplines you will need to be creative, hands‑on and proficient at problem‑solving, viewing projects from a holistic systems perspective. You will proactively lead in undertaking systems integration processes and work closely with the Systems Integration Lead to continually improve those processes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the development of Systems Integration processes and apply them on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
• Facilitate and develop interfaces, requirements, and concepts.
• Support and coordinate technical reviews of designs, plans, specifications, construction submittals, testing, and commissioning documents.
• Collaborate closely with the wider Systems Engineering team—including Systems Assurance, RAMS, and Operations & Maintenance.
• Support the development and execution of Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
