PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF POSITION :
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To be the principal or secondary selling representative within the assigned responsibility and territory for the Company to achieve the short-and long-range sales objectives established in the Company’s Business Plan.
Objectives will be achieved through the discovering of new customers and markets in the assigned territory, maintaining established business with existing customers, and coordinating activities with the Area Sales Director and Sales Support Manager.
Also to provide input in monthly reports and special reports that identifies activities in the territory and requirement of customers in the territory.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Travel to customers and potential customers’ facilities providing them with information and support as required to secure business.
- Evaluate territory performance against established objectives / guidelines (sales forecast, budget, number of new accounts, etc.
and take appropriate action to improve performance.
- Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary to assist in achieving established objectives.
- Cooperate with Finance to assure the collection of account receivable due and obtaining of appropriate documents to minimize risk.
- Provide accurate forecast of sales by customer and product on a timely basis.
- Assure that sales activities in the territory comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Recommend to the Company areas of future growth potential such as acquisitions, new market strategies, etc.
- Assist in establishing sales objectives for territory in cooperation with Area Business Director.
- Assist in developing a territory coverage plan, which defines the type of support and frequency of customer contact required to meet territory goals.
- Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in business and product planning.
- Participate in a specific amount of surgical procedures, as assigned be Sales Administrator, on a weekly basis.
SKILL SETS :
- Desire to learn technical knowledge of surgical procedures and O.R. protocols.
- Must be comfortable in an OR setting
- Computer literate.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills : written and oral
- Excellent presentation skills and customer interface skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and the Internet.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL :
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent area of studies.
One (1) to Three (3) years sales experience an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
External This position is field based and will require travel daily and the occasional overnight.
