Job Overview
The Business Development Representative (Cash Management Specialist internally) is responsible for maintaining and growing a crucial segment of our commercial book of business with an emphasis on full service 'home bank' relationships with community-based organizations. This includes being a face of FirstOntario in the community with our non-profits, expanding our reach with our unique condo corporation banking program, and managing and growing key deposit relationships within our commercial membership.

Grow and cement FirstOntario's status as the premier partner for non-profits in the banking sector, by forming partnerships and winning banking relationshipsEstablish yourself in the Non-For Profit (NFP) sector with a consistent presence and reputation for excellence and integrityReflect FirstOntario's existing community impact with existing partners, and build on our own public image as an exemplary corporate citizenChampion true partner banking with our members and prospects including all FirstOntario business lines in opportunitiesExpand our condominium banking program that serves a growing segment of our communitiesLeverage our products and services to win full-service banking with property managersGrow our deposit base through condo reserve fund investments, including managing active investment plans for condo boardsAttend industry trade shows to build relationships and win new businessAttract, retain, and manage key depositor relationships as part of your business-as-usual activitySupport our Business Banking Group team members with cash management and deposit services, sales, and activities and act as a subject matter expertBelieve in our products and services and confidently communicate to business members and future business members how we can improve their financial livesAid in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns that will help achieve Business Banking targetsActively develop and execute a strategy that involves you in the branch network and local communities to raise visibility and generate new businessIdentify areas of opportunity within sales targets in a timely manner and develop and implement action plans to close any gapsProactively identify product or service gaps for our membershipMaximize revenue opportunities without compromising excellent member experienceAnalyze and measure performance of campaigns and programs while being flexible to modification to increase our share of wallet, acquisition and retention of membershipsPlay an active role in the development and maintenance of your pipeline by leveraging your networks and using an effective prospecting strategyStay ahead of the curve when it comes to best practices and standards for Business Banking and Cash ManagementBe conscious of brand guidelines and use business banking marketing materials that seamlessly align with other business linesNot only adhere to all regulatory, risk, and compliance standards, but help contribute to the level of governance excellence that FirstOntario regularly displaysLeverage and support our administrative roles to ensure a seamless member experienceManage multiple priorities with strict deadlinesIdentify and escalate compliance risks and proactively work towards solutions for future opportunitiesConsider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of self and othersPerform other duties we may need you to doRequired Skills
University Degree or College Diploma in the field of Business, Economics, Marketing or related fieldsHave 3-5 (three to five) years' experience in Financial ServicesBe well-versed in business banking and / or cash management best practices and methodologiesHave a level of comfort and knowledge with the financial markets and how these are impacting our members and prospectsHave experience in the NFP sector, either directly through employment, or indirectly through a client relationship, or volunteerismExcel at relationship management of current and prospective members and be quick to respond to requests for service from all of your clients / membersDemonstrate your sales management skills in setting and monitoring sales targets, plans, pipelines and activitiesBe extremely comfortable using a computer particularly MS OfficeBe willing to work flexible hours to accommodate business need, networking and community involvementEnjoy being on the road and traveling to support our membershipBe aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and proceduresMust be available to work in Hamilton. Some travel within region and flexibility to be discussed in interview.

Salary Range : $59,078 to $81,233 annually.
Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
