What you can expect to do here
Participate in the design of plans, preliminary estimations, and details for transportation, commercial, and industrial building projects.Electrical design for building Power distribution, Fire Alarm, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Emergency Power, and Life Safety Generator systems.Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the design team, serve as the design lead for their projects, and be the client‑facing representative of WSP.Prepare calculations, conceptual and detail design, technical specification, installation details, permits, tender and post‑tender services, and perform contract administration services to review shop drawings and RFIs.Prepare contract documents, sign professionally, and collaborate with Project Managers, senior engineers, designers, and 3D modelers to submit projects for permit and tender.What you’ll bring to WSP
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and registered P.Eng.10 to 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for transportation, commercial, and industrial building projects, including but not limited to power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, fire protection, lightning protection, arc flash study, emergency power, and life safety.Complete understanding of building electrical engineering requirements, Codes and Standards, including but not limited to Ontario Building Codes (OBC), OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE, etc.Strong technical background to guide and mentor intermediate and junior engineers.Ability to liaise with contractors and defend the electrical designs.Expertise in reviewing and preparing installation details, providing technical calculations and specifications.Commitment to reviewing the design and providing Quality Control for all design packages prior to submission.Job Details
