Role Overview :
We are seeking a Junior Technical Support Engineer (Google Cloud) to join our Managed Services division. This role is designed for an early-career technical professional who is looking to build strong foundational experience supporting client environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will initially shadow senior technical resources, supporting day-to-day operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities. Over time, you will transition into a fully client-facing role, owning defined components of client environments and participating in on-call and escalation rotations.
Base Salary : $70,000 – $90,000 CAD annually, based on experience
Report to : Vice President or designate
Location : Hybrid (Hamilton, ON) – travel as required

Working as a Junior Technical Support Engineer (Google Cloud), You Will :
C loud Infrastructure & Managed Services
Support day-to-day operations of client GCP environments, including IAM, networking (VPCs), compute, and storage services.
Monitor system health, uptime, and performance using established tools and dashboards.
Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
Execute routine maintenance tasks, configuration updates, and platform housekeeping activities.
Follow GCP and DIT best practices for security, reliability, and cost awareness.
AI Environment Maintenance & Evergreening
Assist in monitoring AI and data workloads in production environments, including basic performance and reliability checks.
Support data ingestion and processing pipelines (e.g., Pub / Sub, Dataflow) by validating data flow and flagging issues.
Participate in evergreening activities such as platform updates, API changes, and feature rollouts.
Help maintain consistency between development, staging, and production environments.
Client Success & Technical Leadership
Gradually take ownership of defined technical tasks and services for assigned clients.
Participate in client calls and reviews alongside senior team members, building confidence and communication skills.
Document procedures, runbooks, and operational processes as part of ongoing service improvement.
Collaborate with internal delivery, cloud, and security teams to support high-quality service delivery.
Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotations as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
0–3 years of experience in a technical support, IT operations, help desk, cloud support, or junior engineering role.
Basic hands-on exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other public cloud platforms.
Strong interest in cloud infrastructure, managed services, and modern technical environments.
Solid troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn in production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Cloud Digital Leader.
Familiarity with core GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, and networking.
Basic exposure to monitoring, logging, or observability tools.
Introductory experience with scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code, or automation concepts is an asset.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
French / English bilingualism is an asset
