Job description

Role : Qlik Developer– Lead

Location : Calgary, Canada

Who are we looking for?

An experienced (8-10 years) Qlik developer, experience with Qlik View / Qlik Sense and MS SQL to work for one of our railroad clients. The Individual should be passionate about technology, experienced in developing and managing technology applications. Hands on with Qlik view / Qlik Sense and MS SQL is a must.

Technical Skills :

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Reporting tools with at least 1 end to end implementations.
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ Hands-on Experience with a Dashboard Tool like Qlikview and Qlik Sense.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of hand-on experience in MS SQL.
  • Strong experience in understanding of business users expectations.
  • Experienced in creating technical design documents from the functional specification documents.
  • Capability to provide high level and detail estimates.
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering complex Reporting solutions for large organizations.
  • Team player, skilled in working in a highly collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of the Railway business is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Assess system operations and implement Reporting solutions to optimize performance.
  • Responsible for defining and documenting business requirements.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications to meet business requirements.
  • Perform development to provide reporting solutions addressing specific business needs.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis on production issues.
  • Responsible for the implementation of solutions to resolve production defects.
  • Assess business requirements & processes and provide recommendations on optimal solutions that will best serve the business needs.
  • Understanding of basic principles of software design for maintainable application
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers including distributed team members
  • Partner with QA to own the quality of the product.
  • Agile / Scrum experience or basic knowledge

  • Resolve technical issues of projects and explore alternate design options.
  • Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction.

  • Train and coach members of project groups to ensure effective knowledge management activity.
  • Professional, clear and effective communication skills

    • Qualification :

    University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent Business Intelligence technical experience.
