Role Summary / Objective
The Maintenance Shift Lead (PM shift) coordinates daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of all systems and equipment. The role maintains a clean and organized workspace by ensuring team members follow company policies and procedures. The afternoon shift will be from 3 PM to 11 : 30 PM.
Role Details
- Licensed trades (433A, 442A, 309A) : $40.25 / hr – $47.75 / hr

- $1,000 tool allowance for first year, $300 tool allowance every year after
Primary Responsibilities
Demonstrate and uphold Riverside Natural Food’s Core Values.Understand and lead compliance with both Health and Safety and Food Safety practices.Unplanned Maintenance
Utilize equipment troubleshooting skills to solve complex issues.Organize resources on the floor and provide guidance to the team to address equipment issues.Liaise with different stakeholders to coordinate maintenance team efforts to achieve the DAILY goal.Assist in preparing shift report.Planned Maintenance
Assist in planning and scheduling of Work Order (WO) for the shift.Assist in parts kitting activities for WO assigned.Participate in WO start‑up meetings and provide guidance such as safety procedure, specialized tools, documentation standard, etc.Supervise team members during maintenance tasks, review the quality of work done against established standards and ensure hours and parts are logged in the system.Training
Act as subject matter expert and provide training for other technicians, including onboarding new members and supporting cross‑functional learning initiatives.Assist in preparing training documents including SOP, one‑point lesson, troubleshooting guide, etc.Continuous Improvement
Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as Subject Matter Expert.Lead actions as assigned and monitor line performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.Responsible for proper housekeeping in the workshop and any work area.Other duties as assigned.Reporting Relationships
Reports to Maintenance SupervisorKey Qualifications / Requirements
Previous experience in trade. Certified Provincial Electricians Ticket (442 or 309A) or Red Seal Millwright (433) preferred or working toward one.Undergraduate degree in Engineering is a plus.Over 5 years of manufacturing experience. Experience in a food manufacturing environment will be an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Computerized Maintenance Management System.Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting electrical drawings, P&ID drawings, and control network drawings.Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with plant‑floor employees and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.Time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and hold team members accountable to deliverables on agreed deadlines.Ability to work weekend, afternoon or night when needed.Core Values
