Environment, Health and Safety Manager - Africa

A specialist consultant company in hydropower asset management requires the services for a regional Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Manager.

You will act, - as the subject matter expert, for all HSEQ matters and operate at group level developing internal policy and procedures whilst also and consistently supporting clients on site.

• Your initial focus will be on clients with 2 African hydropower projects to advise develop and implement best HSEQ practice and policy for O&M;
• the company have a large pipeline of projects across Africa that you will support.

You will be based in a town popular with tourists with travel to the sites and have accommodation provided.

What you will be expected to do :

• Develop client relationships
• develop and implement policies and procedures at group level whilst supporting clients on site needs.
• Liaise with various sites to ensure the HSEQ procedures are being followed, supply advice and training to the teams
• Advise, support and provide recommendations around HSEQ to the operations and management teams

Requirements :

• Minimum of 15 years relating experience
• Relevant Degree in Health / Safety and Quality (ISO Certification) or related field, essential
• Experience in hydropower, essential
• Fluent in both French & English, essential

What they will offer you :

A Net salary of $10,000 USD per month worked, on a freelance contract, single status + accommodation + insurances + travel (3 / 4 x return trips / annum).

The workload ranges from Full time to Part time so you may still balance with other personal or professional projects if you cannot commit to full time.
