This may include but is not limited to opening in prayer at MissionThrift Store Board and / or Staff Meetings, Mission Thrift Store events, BFM Foundation (Canada)Annual Conference.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive control systems for budgets, cash flows, and inventory management, specifically geared toward the achievement of revenue targets and ensuring profitabilityEstablish and enforce rigorous standards for donations, inventory control, sales strategies, and marketing initiatives, optimizing operational efficiency and revenue generation within a large-scale retail environment.

Work with the General Manager in planning and moving the store to its future home.Strategically allocate and maximize floor space utilization to enhance the display and sale of inventory, ensuring an appealing and customer-friendly shopping experience.

Prioritize and maintain a safe environment for customers, volunteers, and staff, adhering to regulatory requirements and implementing robust safety protocols.

Implement effective recruitment, training, and scheduling procedures to manage a diverse team of volunteers and staff members, fostering a cohesive and high-performing work culture.

Lead the recruitment and selection process for all staff positions, identifying and hiring top talent to support the store's objectives and growth targets.

Conduct regular performance evaluations for all staff members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring equitable compensation in alignment with organizational policies.

Prepare and present detailed monthly reports to the General Manager, offering insights into store performance, financial metrics, and strategic initiatives, and actively participate in board meetings.

Develop and manage budgets for marketing, advertising, and promotional activities, collaborating with stakeholders to drive brand awareness and customer engagement while supporting overall store objectives.

Lead daily prayer and devotions with volunteers and staff, promoting team cohesion, and emphasizing shared Christian values and mission alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS Proven track record of at least 5 years in senior management roles within the retail sector, demonstrating successful oversight of large-scale operations, staff, and volunteer teams in stores with annual revenues exceeding $1M and a footprint of at least 15-20, sq ft.

Thrift experience is strongly preferred.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office for developing comprehensive spreadsheets, creating word processing documents, and leveraging technology to optimize operational processes.

Extensive experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems, including setup, maintenance, and utilization to streamline transactions and inventory management within a high-volume retail environment.

In-depth understanding and practical application of barcoding and price tagging methodologies, coupled with hands-on experience in operating cash registers and managing cash handling protocols to facilitate efficient sales transactions.

Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including customers, staff, volunteers, and external partners.

Strong aptitude for time management and organizational efficiency, adept at prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced retail setting.

Proven ability to manage facilities, overseeing maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure a safe and attractive shopping environment for customers and a productive workspace for staff and volunteers.

Demonstrated experience in supplier management, including negotiating contracts, monitoring vendor performance, and optimizing procurement processes to maintain high-quality inventory levels while controlling costs.

Proficient in human resources management, including recruitment, training, and retention strategies for both paid staff and volunteers, as well as compliance with employment laws and regulations.
