We are currently seeking a full-time Teacher to join the Providence team for a temporary 4 month contract starting in August 2026. The candidate must hold a valid Alberta Interim or Permanent Teaching Certificate. It is a condition of employment at Providence that all employees are vaccinated against COVID-19. Why choose us? Responsibilities Include: Plan and Implement programs following Alberta Education ECS guidelines Provide developmentally appropriate and engaging learning opportunities to children in a vibrant play-based program Establish and maintain a classroom that is safe, stimulating, and age appropriate Provide written reports or updates relating to the child's progress and goals as described in their IPP'S Supervise and lead classroom Teaching/Therapy Assistants by setting clear expectations, offering ongoing support, and fostering a positive, team-oriented classroom culture. Qualifications: Must have an education degree from a recognized Canadian university Must have Alberta Interim/Permanent Teacher Certificate Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have disabilities is preferred Demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Personal suitability NOTE: This position requires lifting and carrying demands that require the ability to bend at the waist, stoop, and twist frequently, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, the ability to carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs, and the ability to stand, walk and sit frequently.
