Role

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy and Performance, you will provide leadership to the research and innovation functions within the Department.

This includes ensuring evidence-informed, high-value innovation in policy and practice through health evidence reviews, policy and strategy development, and strategic alliances with stakeholders.

You will be accountable for policy and research expertise as well as support and strategic advice that guides, informs, supports and represents Ministry business.

You will act as the liaison with provincial and federal counterparts, research and academic communities, key clinical stakeholders including universities, research and development organizations, health care providers, private sector innovators, health technology and research agencies, provincially, nationally and internationally to inform innovation in health care systems and delivery.

You will be responsible to develop strategic recommendations, options, and provide advice. Your excellent communication and influential skills will lend to strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners.

You have experience leading strong teams accountable for program delivery and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities.

Qualifications

Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience.

You bring a strong understanding of evidence research methodologies and demonstrated innovation skills. You have a deep understanding of public health and health systems, financial accountabilities as well as informed policy development.

You bring demonstrated experience leading complex programs as well as an ability to work effectively with stakeholders to manage diverse expectations and interests.

A respected leader with experience leading staff, you are committed to building strong lines of communication and trust as well as empowering your teams to achieve results through performance excellence.

A related degree is preferred.

Salary

$4,934.42 - $6,484.75 bi-weekly ($128,788 - $169,251 annually)
