JOB SYNOPSIS:
Under the direction of the rentals and repair supervisor, the Rental and Repair Assistant Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, management, and direction for assigned team members within the Rental team. The Rental and Repair Assistant Supervisor’s primary role is to support driving exceptional guest experience, build strong supplier relationships, and ensure service and financial targets are met.
Key areas of responsibility include supporting the repair and rentals supervisor to analyze and understanding operational flows to streamline bottlenecks in process, equipment and machinery management, inventory controls, legal liability documentation, risk management, well-rounded product knowledge, design and store layout, managing expenses and inventory. This will be accomplished by working closely amongst your team on the floor which will provide invaluable feedback and insights from our guests' experience.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, planning, and development including sourcing local and sustainable products when possible.
- Help Promote Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and amending where necessary but not limited to: Department Manuals, Communicable Disease Prevention Program (CDPP), Employee Handbook.
- Work With Supervisor on department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve organizational goals.
- Embrace, promote and follow Whitewater’s mission statement and values.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal standards pertaining to waivers, equipment, safety regulations, and OHS practices as it pertains to your department.
- Help support supervisor be accountable for ensuring all operational standards are achieved.
- Remain current and up to date with industry standards, new technologies and trends, and demonstrate product knowledge.
- Ensure staff are knowledgeable in customer relations, product knowledge, and risk management to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Work alongside Supervisor to performance management through training, mentoring, coaching and feedback to support the ongoing development of staff.
- Assist in recruitment and department orientations to train new employees.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and appearance of the Rental and Repair facilities.
- Quickly and effectively solve guest inquiries and use best judgment to escalate unresolved issues.
- Help Inspect equipment and loss prevention while maintaining inventory.
- Acquire appropriate binding certifications and product knowledge from all manufacturers.
- Balancing cash out and audit, Refunds, exchanges, special requests.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
- Must be willing to travel to the mountain and work weekends and holidays as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
- A minimum of1-2 years' experience in Rentals and Repairs. Industry experience is an asset.
- Supervisory experience is an asset.
- Must have strong administrative capabilities including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), POS systems and records management.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.
- Sidas Bootfitter certification an asset.

- Must have excellent leadership and people management skills to effectively motivate the team members and address performance concerns if necessary.
- Must have superior time management and multitasking skills, with the proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage various deadlines.
- Must have a proven track record of implementing and maintaining superior service standards.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to build and maintain key relationships with brand partners, sales reps and guests.
- Understanding of touring and backcountry equipment is an asset.
