Summary :

The Governance and Standards Engineer provides coordination, guidance, and facilitation support for corporate and engineering initiatives, procedures, standards, and professional-practice requirements. This role works under the Chief Engineer and alongside the Engineering Managers and Department Managers to help plan, communicate, implement, and continuously improve agreed processes, tools and governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Support delivery of corporate initiatives, including planning support, coordination, tracking, and communication.
• Audit proposed and existing engineering and design staffing for project success.
• Standards development and maintenance : Create, update, publish and maintain corporate and engineering standards, procedures, and the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP), ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Lead Project Management and engineering document standardization and improvements (e.g., DBMs, PEPs, calculation templates, methods, and related design practices).
• Support department initiatives and provide assistance to Engineering Managers and Department Managers.

Support professional-practice requirements and provide guidance related to applicable professional engineering associations (Canada, United States, and Australia), including :

Create and present training materials, competency frameworks, and onboarding programs for managers and staff.
