Casual Truckdriver

Overview

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking a casual Truckdriver in Solid Waste Operations within the Recycling & Waste Management Division of the Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager - Solid Waste Operations and supervised by the Logistics Supervisor or the Recycling Leader V, the Truckdriver contributes to the effective operation of CVRD Recycling Facilities through the efficient and safe collection and hauling of residential and commercial waste using tandem axle collection trucks and other equipment as required.

This is a casual, on-call opportunity with no guaranteed hours. Shifts are scheduled based on operational need and flexibility in hours and shifts is required. This position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) with wage rate in two steps : $36.22–$38.44 per hour (2026 rates), plus an additional 14.5% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory holidays.
