Intercity Packers

Position
Full-Time, Permanent
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4 : 30pm
Roles and Responsibilities
- Adheres to safe work practices.
- Full accountability on fill rates.
- Must understand production potentials and yield gaps.
- Operate equipment and machinery used in the smokehouse production process
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels in the smokehouse to ensure product quality.
- Ensure that all products are smoked to the correct level and meet safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all products processed in the smokehouse
- Ensure that all safety regulations and protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Must understand food safety guidelines.
- Guarantees on-time delivery standards.
- Maintains a high fill rate performance.
- Operate all equipment as per expectations.
- Meet with the direct supervisor (daily).
- Reports any deviations and / or personnel issues to his / her direct supervisor.
- Plan and execute production to fulfill all regulatory as well as SQF requirements.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in smoking meats and operating smokehouse equipment will be an asset.Knowledge of various types of wood chips and how they affect the flavor of meatAbility to maintain and clean smokehouse equipmentUnderstanding of food safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing meatPhysical ability to lift and move heavy cuts of meatStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality in smoked meatsWillingness to work early morning and / or late night shiftsGood communication skills and ability to work well in a team environmentBenefits
