Job Summary
The Physician Quality Leader (PQL) is a physician passionate about fostering a culture of safety in clinical services and establishing evidence‑based patient care models to enhance patient safety at their respective acute care site. This role involves collaboration with the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Department, senior leadership, department heads, regional leaders, and support systems. The position reports to the Executive Medical Director (EMD), Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, and is part of the leadership team, which includes the Regional Medical Director/Regional Department Head, Local Department Heads, and other medical leads.
It is a part‑time role, dedicating approximately seven (7) hours per month, and is a one‑year position. The PQL will partner with the local process improvement coordinator, review patient safety reports, support the development of quality improvement/safety projects, attend quarterly Patient Safety Priorities Update meetings, produce a semi‑annual report, provide a monthly status report, and present updates at the Health Services Quality Operational Management Committee (HQOMC) every three months.
