We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to do full-cycle accounting activities along with overseeing a small team, for a commercial property management company here in Edmonton. This position plays a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting audit readiness, and maintaining strong accounting controls across day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on property accounting expertise and a strong understanding of reconciliations, budgeting, and period-end processes.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee complete accounting operations for commercial property accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and clear variance analysis.
• Coordinate year-end audit preparation by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and resolving outstanding items efficiently.
• Perform and review account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling financial data and monitoring performance against plan.
• Manage payroll-related accounting tasks and ensure associated entries, balances, and records are maintained correctly.
• Produce consolidated financial information for multiple entities or properties as required for internal and external reporting.
• Review accounting outputs and internal processes to strengthen compliance, consistency, and financial accuracy.
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably within commercial property management or real estate environments.
• Strong ability to prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, including consolidated reporting where applicable.
• Proven background in account reconciliations, audit preparation, and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Proficiency with accounting software systems and a solid understanding of financial controls and reporting workflows.
• Experience contributing to budget development, financial review processes, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of payroll accounting and the related impact on general ledger and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced accounting environment.
