Truck Driver

The job description for a gravel truck driver typically includes the following responsibilities and qualifications :

Location : McLean , SK

Hours : 7AM TO 5PM (Monday-Friday)

Salary : $28 Per Hour

Responsibilities :

• Driving : Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to transport gravel, sand, and other materials to construction sites, quarries, or other designated locations.
• Loading and Unloading : Load materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment such as loaders or conveyors. Ensure proper distribution and securement of the load.
• Transportation : Drive trucks over established routes or to specific locations according to schedule and delivery instructions.
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations. Maintain a clean driving record and follow safety protocols for the loading, transport, and unloading of materials.
• Vehicle Maintenance : Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the truck, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and mechanical components.

Report any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

• Documentation : Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries. Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets, logs, and inspection reports.
• Communication : Coordinate with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.

Qualifications :

• Driver needs to have a 1A and PME certification
• endorsements for operating heavy vehicles and transporting hazardous materials if required.
• Experience : Previous experience as a truck driver, especially in the transportation of construction materials or similar cargo, is often preferred.
• Physical Stamina : Ability to lift heavy objects, climb in and out of the truck cab, and endure long hours of sitting and driving.
• Safety Awareness : Knowledge of safe driving practices, including defensive driving techniques and proper load securement methods.
• Communication Skills : Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
• Attention to Detail : Ability to follow instructions precisely, maintain accurate records, and identify potential safety hazards.
