Across our three hospital sites Birchmount Hospital, Centenary Hospital, General Hospital and several community-based satellite clinics, our programs and services are designed for the specific needs of the Scarborough community.

With 900 inpatient beds, 6000 staff, and 950 physicians, SHN is one of the largest community hospital networks in Canada.

SHN offers three full-service emergency departments; diagnostic, surgery, rehabilitation, and geriatric care; as well as advanced birthing centres for moms, newborns, and growing families.

With leading minds and medical expertise, We are home to North America’s largest nephrology program, as well as the designated cardiac care and spine centre for Scarborough and surrounding communities to the east.

We are proud to be a community-affiliated teaching site for the University of Toronto and partner with a number of other universities and colleges, helping to train the next generation of health care professionals.

This role also works closely with our community partner and Ontario Health- Toronto / East to advance activities that promote seamless patient care across the continuum.

The preferred candidate must possess a minimum of five years of leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment.

The individual should exhibit a keen attention to detail, have efficient time-management and critical thinking skills, and demonstrate the ability to establish clear priorities and responsibilities while leading others to address key strategic and emerging needs.

As a leader who is dynamic, creative, collaborative, inclusive, forward-thinking, and inviting, the candidate should understand the significance of and actively exemplify dedication to cultivating a culture that fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.
