Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Clinical Programs, this position is responsible for providing creative and effective leadership to Patient Flow, Bed Allocation, Nursing Resource Team (NRT) and After-Hours Operation across all sites of SHN.
The Director will adopt principles of IHI best practices as it related to optimizing access, flow and throughput for the corporation, ensuring alignment of processes within each component of the portfolio to promote effective system wide capacity management.
This includes all vision, strategy and execution aimed at reducing length of stay, optimizing inpatient and day hospital capacity, decreasing overutilization of hospital services, streamlining patient transfers internally and externally, strengthening, and expanding community partnerships and improving utilization of patient care.
This leader combines a deep understanding of hospital operations, system integration, developing and executing tactics to improve data literacy.
This role also works closely with our community partner and Ontario Health- Toronto / East to advance activities that promote seamless patient care across the continuum.
The preferred candidate must possess a minimum of five years of leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment.
The individual should exhibit a keen attention to detail, have efficient time-management and critical thinking skills, and demonstrate the ability to establish clear priorities and responsibilities while leading others to address key strategic and emerging needs.
As a leader who is dynamic, creative, collaborative, inclusive, forward-thinking, and inviting, the candidate should understand the significance of and actively exemplify dedication to cultivating a culture that fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A Master's degree in a health-related field, business, or a related discipline is required.
