Introduction
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the Administrative Officer position to support Corporate Services.
Conditions of Employment :
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba class 5 driver’s licence without restrictions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid First Aid / CPR Level 2 Certificate or be able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Must be willing and able to travel with occasional overnight stays as required.
Qualifications : Essential :
- Completion of a degree or diploma in kinesiology. A related discipline, including nursing, occupational health, exercise science / sports medicine, outdoor recreation, athletic therapy, massage therapy, or a combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
- Experience developing and delivering training workshops to an adult audience.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and data management.
- Experience conducting ergonomic assessments and evaluations.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and build rapport with diverse work teams and groups.
- Excellent decision making skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal communication skills including experience explaining complex concepts to stakeholders with varying understanding of technical knowledge.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Administration including community health, population health and wellness programs.
Desired :
- Experience participating with Workplace Health and Safety Committees.
- Knowledge of Federal / Provincial legislation, recognized health and safety principles.
- knowledge of Freedom of Information and Personal Protection Act (FIPPA) and Personal Health and Information Act (PHIA).
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba's role and responsibilities in relation to Health & Wellness in disability management systems.
- Knowledge of kinesiology principles relating to the human body.
Duties : Reporting to the Manager of Safety and Risk Control, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination and administration of Occupational Safety, Health, and Risk Management Branch Health and Wellness programming directives within Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure, including the research and program development, implementation, delivery, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of a range of health-related programs and materials.
