must be willing to work both independently as well as in a team environment and have good communication skills. Must be able to work over-time when required. The Transportation Department is seeking either a Full Time Licensed Journeyman Automotive or Heavy Duty Mechanic or a 3rd/4th Year Apprentice to work out of the Grande Prairie Bus Shop. Salary is commensurate with education/training and experience. The Journeyman wage range is currently $43.10/hour to $44.91/hour (based upon years of experience). Effective September 1, 2026 the Journeyman wage range is $44.39/hour to $46.26/hour (based upon years of experience). The Apprentice wages are currently $34.46/hour (3rd year) and $38.39/hour (4th year). Effective September 1, 2026 the 3rd year Apprentice wage is $35.49/hour and the 4th year Apprentice wage is $39.54/hour.
