Job DescriptionSenior Accountant

Calgary-based client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its high-performing Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing financial processes, leveraging technology, and providing value-added insights to support leadership decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The organization supports a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week of in-office collaboration at its Calgary office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement note disclosures and support MD&A review.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process and ensure general ledger accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly internal financial reporting packages and related analyses.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including lease and PP&E continuity schedules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Property Tax advisors, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
  • Analyze and document complex transactions in compliance with IFRS and provide actionable financial insights.
  • Support internal controls and audit activities, including internal, external, and tax audits, while responding to ad hoc financial requests.
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA (or equivalent professional designation) required.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; experience with Oracle NetSuite and/or Hyperion is considered an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working across all levels of the organization.
