As an Appliance Technician reporting to the Technical Service Manager, your primary responsibility involves diagnosing and repairing of broken / damaged appliances in customer’s home.
You are required to provide exceptional customer service and ensure timely completion of work orders as per company policy and expectations.
Successful candidates will possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, demonstrate high integrity, pay attention to detail and exhibit strong problem solving skills.
For individuals new to the industry, Trail’s minimum requirements include holding a valid driver’s license. If you are undergoing an Appliance serving course without prior appliance repair experience, you will require a CFC handling certificate and an appliance gas serving certificate and maintain a driver’s license.
This role is based out of Trail's Warehouse facility on Annacis Island, and Builder Warehouse as required.
What you will be doing :
- Install, service, and repair various household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers etc
- Evaluate and troubleshoot problems
- Stay up-to-date on the latest appliance technology and parts
- Possess extremely organizational, time management, problem solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrate a high level of electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Be able to maneuver equipment to in order to perform all required services.
- Work in a safe and responsible manner to avoid injuries, damages to property, loss of unused parts.
- Detailed completion of all necessary paperwork, including work orders and service orders. Must be able to order parts and track inventory.
What you bring :
- A minimum of three years' experience servicing major brands of kitchen and laundry appliances
- Appliance journeyman ticket or Kwantlen College Appliance Repair technician Certificate
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Elevated attention to detail
- Strong Customer service skills and helpful attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for time management
C" Gas ticket and CFC certification
- Able to perform sealed system repairs to refrigeration units
- Valid Driver license, must provide a clean drivers abstract upon request
