Healthcare Security Guard - Casual

About the Position

We are seeking friendly, confident Security Professionals to work at healthcare facilities throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, including hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, and more.

Our Healthcare managers work closely with employees to find worksites that align with their skills, availability, and lifestyle.

This is a casual position requiring a minimum of 3 full days of availability per week, with flexibility to work either day or night shifts on those days . Employees are expected to pick up available shifts that fall within the availability they have provided.

Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Security Professionals provide safety, support, empathy, and customer service to healthcare staff, patients, clients, and visitors. Our Healthcare managers provide 24-hour support , helping employees proactively manage risks and respond to incidents with real-time guidance.

A Day in the Life of a Healthcare Security Guard

While duties vary by worksite, you may be responsible for:
• Controlling access to the facility and restricted areas.
• Monitoring and responding to incidents, including those identified through CCTV.
• Conducting regular patrols and identifying security and safety risks, such as unlocked doors, blocked exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and security breaches.
• Responding to alarms and emergency calls for assistance.
• Investigating and reporting incidents, irregularities, and security concerns.
• Monitoring patient safety and documenting and reporting incidents as required.
Qualifications
• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to remain calm in changing or stressful situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.
• Minimum 3 full days of availability per week, with flexibility to work either day or night shifts on those days .
Nice to Have
• Previous security experience.
• Valid Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act (SSIA) Security Worker Licence.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
