Overview
The Purchasing Agent plays a key role in managing the full procurement cycle for Broadstreet Properties Ltd., supporting property operations, maintenance, and development activities across the organization. This position is responsible for sourcing, ordering, tracking, and coordinating the delivery of goods and services while ensuring compliance with procurement policies, vendor standards, and internal controls. Working closely with Operations, Facilities, and Supply Chain teams, the Purchasing Agent contributes to efficient workflows, cost control, and service quality through effective vendor management, inventory coordination, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full purchasing lifecycle, including sourcing, requisitioning, ordering, tracking, and receiving goods and services
- Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing, availability, specifications, and delivery schedules
- Evaluate quality, pricing, and service factors to support best value purchasing decisions
- Create, review, and track purchase orders and obtain required approvals prior to order placement
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation within the ERP system
- Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Coordination
- Coordinate transportation, storage, and delivery of purchased goods in collaboration with shipping and receiving teams
- Track shipments, verify receipts, and resolve discrepancies related to shortages, damages, or invoicing issues
- Support inventory management by conducting physical counts and reconciling inventory records as required
- Assist with warehouse operations and receiving functions during peak periods, as needed
- Process, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with organizational policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
- Prepare reports and documentation related to purchasing activity, vendor performance, and inventory levels
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement, warehouse, and logistics processes
- Collaboration & Support
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Facilities, and Supply Chain teams to forecast purchasing needs and support service delivery
- Provide guidance and operational support to shipping and receiving staff
- Perform other related duties in support of procurement and facilities operations
What You Need To Be Successful
Minimum three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operationsExperience working with ERP or procurement systems and vendor management processesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environmentExperience supporting inventory control, logistics, or warehouse coordination is an assetAbility to prepare specifications, contracts, and purchasing documentation and monitor supplier performanceProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly ExcelWorking knowledge of ERP and purchasing systemsStrong negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skillsAbility to analyze pricing, quality, and service metricsKnowledge of shipping documentation, including waybills and bills of ladingUnderstanding of safe receiving, handling, and storage practicesAbility to lift up to 50 lbsPerks
