Zurich Underwriting Associate Program – Calgary
Zurich Canada invites experienced customer service, administration, or insurance professionals to join the Zurich Excellence Program – Underwriting Associate Stream. This two‑year onboarding program offers mentorship, hands‑on training, and structured professional development within commercial insurance.
What you will do
- Review, evaluate, and summarize risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to support underwriting decisions.
- Follow instructions from Underwriters to accurately quote and issue policies, including policy rating, pricing, construction, coverages, exclusions, and mandatory forms.
- Provide end‑to‑end servicing support for new business, renewals, and endorsements, collaborating with Underwriter and Manager.
- Support broker / agent / distributor / customer interactions by responding to written, verbal, and telephone inquiries on time under close supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or College diploma with no prior experience in administration, customer service, financial services, risk management, or insurance.OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in administration, customer service, financial services, risk management, or insurance.Knowledge of data collection and analysis.Microsoft Office experience.Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in insurance, financial services, customer service, risk management, or related fields.Aspiration to attain the Chartered Insurance Professional designation.Strong analytical thinking, curious mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, eagerness to learn and grow in a structured training environment, team‑oriented attitude with passion for delivering great service.Benefits & Details
Hybrid work opportunity – in‑office presence required (3 days a week).Salary range : $60,000–$65,000.Start date : late February / early March 2026.Legal eligibility : You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Phone screenings may occur well before interviews; if selected, interviews may not be scheduled until late‑January.About Zurich Canada
