Under the supervision of the Controller, this Payroll Clerk position assembles, prepares, verifies documents, and enters transactions into the SAP (Workforce) and accounting system (Momentus). This is a temporary full-time position for a period of 6 months with a possibility of an extension. Scope and Major Responsibilities:Processes and maintains payroll-related data in accordance with established policies and procedures, collective agreements and Labour Standards. Produces related reports and reconciliations.Maintains, verifies, and reconciles employee sick and vacation accrual and usage, increments, overtime and scheduled days off. Makes adjustments resulting from Union contract negotiations.Provides training and support to all staff on the payroll system.Investigates enquiries from employees, management, and external agencies, regarding payroll, accounts payable and account receivable. Responds to enquiries related to established policies and procedures.Codes the monthly payroll invoice for entry. Assists in the preparation of audit working papers and answers all payroll audit questions.Processes and maintains data in the accounting system related to accounts payable, account receivables, and monthly bank reconciliations in accordance with established policies and procedures. Produces related reports and reconciliations.Produce related reports and reconciliation for Ticketmaster, Event Staffing and company credit cards. Knowledge, Abilities And Skills:Thorough knowledge of hourly and salaried payroll terminology and procedures.Thorough knowledge of computerized accounting systems.Demonstrated knowledge of full cycle accounting.Knowledge of SAP (Payroll) and Momentus would be considered an asset.Considerable knowledge of business English and office procedures, including cash handling.Ability to enter data rapidly and accurately.Ability to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail and work within deadlines.Skill in the operation of modern office equipment, including a computer with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database ERP.Security Requirements:Acceptable current criminal record check upon offer of employment.Education, Training and Experience Requirements:Grade 12 educationSuccessful completion of an Accountancy diploma or a Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation Five years' related experience.
